People Sniffer
“People sniffer was the field name for a series of U.S. Army personnel detectors used during the Vietnam War. The purpose was to detect enemy soldiers in hidden positions, which were often employed in the jungle combat conditions of Vietnam.”
“The detection method used by people sniffers depended on effluents unique to human beings; such as those found in urine and sweat.”
“While useful, the detectors had to be used with some caution. People sniffers were known to be oversensitive and would often detect civilians or animals excreting bodily waste.”

Ready 'n' Steady
""Ready 'n' Steady" is a song by the artist D.A. that appeared on Billboard magazine's Bubbling Under the Hot 100 chart for three weeks in June 1979. The record, along with information about it or the artist, has been notoriously hard to find, leading many collectors to consider it a "phantom record"."
"The record, released on the Rascal label, moved up to 103 on June 23, then up to 102 the following week before dropping off the chart."
"Music historian Joel Whitburn, whose company Record Research Inc. specializes in analyzing the Billboard charts, has published various books containing chart data. He has collected tens of thousands of hit records, including all of the 45s ever to hit the Hot 100 or Bubbling Under charts—all except "Ready 'n' Steady"."
"…Whitburn noted he still has not been able to find "Ready 'n' Steady" and said "I don't think it exists.""

Zeigarnik Effect
"The Zeigarnik Effect is the tendency to experience intrusive thoughts about an objective that was once pursued and left incomplete. The automatic system signals the conscious mind, which may be focused on new goals, that a previous activity was left incomplete. It seems to be human nature to finish what we start and, if it is not finished, we experience dissonance."

Fascination (1974)
"In 1974, Nintendo released Wild Gunman, an arcade game that used 16mm film rather than video. It was a light gun shooter where the player engages in a gunfight with various Old West-style outlaws."
"Nintendo also designed a more adult version of the game, known as Fascination. It was also a shooter using a light gun, but the film was significantly different. Instead of shooting cowboys, the player shot at a Swedish woman in an evening dress who danced around the screen. When she struck a pose, the player shoots. Instead of killing her, parts of her clothing come off. The process was repeated until she was completely nude.
This game was never released to the public…"

Fata Morgana (mirage)
"A Fata Morgana…is an unusual and complex form of superior mirage that is seen in a narrow band right above the horizon."
"Fata Morgana mirages significantly distort the object or objects on which they are based, often such that the object is completely unrecognizable. A Fata Morgana can be seen on land or at sea, in polar regions or in deserts. This kind of mirage can involve almost any kind of distant object, including boats, islands and the coastline.
A Fata Morgana is often rapidly changing. The mirage comprises several inverted (upside down) and erect (right side up) images that are stacked on top of one another. Fata Morgana mirages also show alternating compressed and stretched zones.
This optical phenomenon occurs because rays of light are bent when they pass through air layers of different temperatures in a steep thermal inversion where an atmospheric duct has formed."
